Scotland

Glasgow (Greenock) About 30 miles east of Greenock, Glasgow is known as the "Second City of
the Empire." One of Britain's liveliest cities, a recent rejuvenation along with many priceless art
collections draws visitors to the city center. From Glasgow, venture out into the rich farmland and
salmon streams of the Lowlands, visit the scenic lochs, or spend time in the city's shopping districts
and art galleries.
Glasgow Cathedral This cathedral is a magnificent example of pre-Reformation
Gothic architecture, and the only medieval church on the Scottish mainland to survive the 1560
Reformation.
Edinburgh Scotland's capital city boasts a thousand years of history, culture and
tradition.
Loch Lomond This scenic loch is the largest freshwater lake in Scotland.

Wales

Holyhead is located on the far west of the Isle of Anglesey in North Wales, and since the time of
Elizabeth I, the road running from London to Holyhead has been a vital strategic route, linking England,
Wales and the sea route to Ireland. From its proud Celtic roots to its indelible connection to the British
Monarchy, Wales is a land rich in art, folklore, and regal pageantry.  
Menai Suspension Bridge
Opened in 1826, this was the first large iron suspension bridge in the country, rising 100 feet above
the water.  
Caernarfon Castle  This historic castle is one of the world's most formidable architectural
masterpieces in Wales. Charles, Prince of Wales, received his title here in 1969.

The oldest independent railway company in the world, still fully operational with regular
services between Portmadoc and Blaenau Ffestiniog.

Northern Ireland

Belfast  Capital of Northern Ireland, Belfast was a big industrial city in the 19th century, famous for its
linens and shipyards—a city of great pride that was transformed by the Industrial Revolution. Belfast
curls around the west bank of the River Lagan. Tour its grand public buildings or travel to the mythical
Giant's Causeway.  
Irish Linen Center  Irish linen is particularly prized for its quality. This center
traces the history of linen from ancient times to the present. Fascinating exhibits show how
generations of families were involved at all levels of the industry, from growing to weaving.

Opera House
The elaborate Grand Opera House is a beautiful Victorian theatre that is more than
100 years old and is an example of classic Victorian style architecture.
Botanic Gardens Park
The Botanic Gardens Park features the Palm House and Tropical Ravine. Established in 1828, the
gardens have been opened to the public since 1895
